Commitment to responsibility: Our sustainable vision

United for change: United NationsGlobal Pact

Our parent company, Carpintería Ramón García, S.A., joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2014.

This ethical commitment initiative aims for entities in all countries to incorporate the 10 principles of conduct and action regarding Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti-Corruption into their strategies and operations.

Our ethical, social, environmental, and economic responsibilities are formally supported by this international commitment.

COMMITMENT

The well-being of people: our priority

Building a more sustainable world begins with safeguarding people.

We promote positive values and implement measures in our daily operations to ensure this protection. Among the formal measures, the following actions stand out:

Regulatory compliance program: Fostering integrity

At Grupo Ramón García, we embrace an unwavering commitment to:

  • The protection of people and human rights.
  • Strict compliance with the law.
  • Ethic conduct in all aspects of our operations.

Accountability Channel

We aim to promote transparency and responsible conduct in all our relationships.

To achieve this, we encourage our employees, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders to collaborate with us in detecting and preventing irregularities or non-compliance.

The ownership and management of this channel are handled by an external and independent entity, ensuring security and confidentiality in every communication.

Code of Conduct and Compliance Committee

We are governed by a Code of Conduct that goes beyond expectations, setting the highest standards in our industry to ensure ethical and regulatory compliance.

Our core values in every action are:

01
Responsibility in the performance of assigned tasks
02
Creativity and proposal of ideas to improve or innovate
03
Continuous improvement and advancement in a competitive global market
04
Professionalism to achieve efficiency and quality
05
Integrity in labor, commercial, and business relations
06
Respect to foster an adequate work environment
07
Equal treatment and opportunities for women and men
08
Development and wealth creation in the areas where we operate

To assure the strict adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Compliance Program, the Compliance Committee is established.

We are driven by equality, diversity and the defense of human rights

The personal, professional, and social wealth brought by the union of people from diverse backgrounds has defined us since our beginnings, when in 1984 our founding partner, María Gómez Mosquera, embarked on the joinery business in a traditionally male-dominated sector.

With a multicultural team and balanced representation of women and men in leadership positions, we continue to promote every day an inclusive and cooperative work environment with measures such as:

  • Promotion of connection through teambuilding activities.
  • Application of equality protocols and harassment prevention measures.
  • Facilities accessible to people with reduced mobility.
  • Integration of the value of all people equality.

* The care of people at Grupo Ramón García is supported by codes, plans, and protocols detailed in the 'Certifications' section.

At Grupo Ramón García, we go beyond established standards, dedicating our efforts to safeguarding people and preserving the environment, taking actions that leave a positive impact on our community.

We promote charitable initiatives and collaborate with various social projects and prominent non-profit organizations, advancing sustainable development, culture, sports, health protection, and environmental conservation.

Environmental commitment

Sustainability and environmental care: we are eco-friendly

We translate  Grupo Ramón García’s environmental commitment to actions that allow us to minimise the impact of our social activities on the environment.

To achieve this, we have implemented circular economy processes by crafting our products based on the 7R model.

Redesign

Our Maintenance and Production Department examines all feasible solutions for damaged equipment to avoid discarding it.

Reduce

We have achieved a reduction in electricity consumption as a result of installing photovoltaic panels at our Ordes facility, and also in Mesía due to the installation of LED lightning and motion sensors in both factories.

We are committed to energy efficiency, that is optimising the use of any energy source to maximise its benefits without exceeding consumption, with activities such as purchasing electric forklifts and more energy efficient equipment or machinery.

We support local suppliers from kilometer 0, thus protecting the environment by reducing transportation-related pollution.

Our parent company, Carpintería Ramón García, holds the Carbon Footprint certification, enabling us to quantify, reduce, and/or offset our CO2 emissions.

Reuse

We promote the reuse and minimization of paper consumption. We use recycled paper for printing informal documents and photocopy on both sides.

Repair

Our Maintenance and Production Department examines all feasible solutions for damaged equipment to avoid discarding it.

Renew

We update our equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure they continue to perform their intended functions. Alternatively, we repurpose them for other tasks where they can still be useful.

Recover

We recover, whenever possible, used wood and solid surface materials, reintroducing them into the production process to create new products or packaging materials.

Recycle

We recycle cardboard, for which we also have a compactor, as well as plastic, metals, wood scraps, and sawdust.

We add our own R for Responsability Ramón García

The success of environmental management stems from the people. In line with our responsible approach, we promote good environmental practices to raise awareness among our team, through workshops, guides, protocols, and personalized recommendations.

Additionally, we use sustainable raw materials. Carpintería Ramón García is part of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

Similarly, we promote the use of sustainable packaging materials. To this end:

  • We have replaced all FOAM corner protectors with cardboard and eco-friendly foam corner protectors, and bubble wrap rolls with recycled bubble wrap rolls.
  • All purchased labels are FSC® certified.
  • We prioritize recycled cardboard.
  • We strive to replace plastics with those having a higher percentage of recycled content.
