On Monday, the President of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, visited the facilities of Grupo Ramón García SL in Ordes. During his visit, he emphasized the contract sector as a key component in the regional business and industrial strategy, noting its role in generating employment, wealth, and in promoting the Galicia brand internationally.
“We are talking about a sector that projects us onto the global stage, creates jobs, and generates wealth,” stated Núñez Feijóo. Currently, more than 100 Galician companies are active in this field.
The President of the Xunta highlighted that contract-focused companies invest in flexibility, skilled employment, innovation, and high-quality, cutting-edge products. “It is one of the most competitive and promising industries, demonstrating logistical complexity and blending technical and creative fields,” he added.
In this context, Feijóo noted that Grupo Ramón García, which started out as a joinery workshop in 1975, has grown into a company with five divisions: construction joinery, kitchens, custom design, Hi-MACS, and contract. The company now employs over 470 families and has an annual turnover of more than 50 million euros. It manages international orders from Ordes, Mesía, and Mexico for clients including Inditex and Bimba y Lola, among others.
