The Conselleiro of Culture, Education, and University Planning, Román Rodríguez, and the CEO of Carpintería Ramón García, Manuel García Gómez, have just signed a collaboration agreement to launch a new Dual Vocational Training project at the CIFP Politécnico de Santiago.

This dual initiative will be implemented in the medium-level Joinery and Furniture program, starting in the 2018/19 academic year and extending through to the 2019/20 academic year.

Notably, this training modality involves students alternating their education between the academic center and practical experience within the company. Specifically, students will receive instruction at the vocational training center during the first two terms of each academic year, while their time in the company will cover part of the second and third terms.

The carpentry company will host a minimum of 16 students and will assist in their selection process, including conducting psychometric interviews and knowledge tests to ensure candidates align with the professional profile required by the company for this training period.

Additionally, Carpintería Ramón García commits to funding the project through a scholarship system, providing at least 600 euros per month during the months when the training and professional activities are conducted entirely within the company. Furthermore, students will be enrolled in the general social security system and will be entitled to a minimum of 30 days of vacation per year.
