Dreamfit Santiago: Complete renovation of a unique and inspiring gym

A new gym concept has arrived in Santiago de Compostela with Dreamfit Santiago. This space is designed to be innovative, sustainable, and engaging, offering users a next level training experience.

Our dedicated subsidiary, Ramón García Contract, was responsible for executing the majority of the 3,400m2 project. A major milestone was the successful creation of a new evacuation area through a public embankment, fully integrated into the surrounding environment, resolving one of the most complex technical, aesthetic, and legal challenges of the project.

THE CHALLENGE: TRANSFORMING SPACE THROUGH THE POWER OF DETAIL

From underground to uplifting: a space that prioritizes user comfort and well-being

This new fitness and well-being hub required a complete renovation, transforming a former semi-basement that once housed entirely different services within the iconic Área Central shopping center.

We provided a comprehensive construction management service, including all necessary demolition work. In addition to meeting the client's initial requirements, our approach enhanced existing elements through tailored proposals that strengthened the gym’s distinctive identity, while ensuring both functionality and durability.

One of the existing elements we enhanced was the staircase at the main entrance. Drawing on Grupo Ramón García’s expertise in bespoke furniture manufacturing and custom joinery, we applied a polishing and varnishing solution that helped elevate the overall aesthetic of the space.

A solution that meets technical, aesthetic, and legal requirements to enhance safety while blending seamlessly with its surroundings

To enhance the safety of the new gym, a new emergency exit was required, presenting a significant technical, aesthetic, and legal challenge. The design had to cross a landscaped public embankment to reach the wall where the exit would be installed, all while blending seamlessly with the building's distinctive façade.

This meticulous and highly complex intervention was resolved through the following actions:

We removed the topsoil from the embankment to expose the building's foundation retaining wall.
We created a precise opening in the concrete retaining wall and applied waterproofing for added durability.
We reinforced the embankment with an ecological wall to ensure long-term stability.
We used Galician-sourced stone for the exterior paving, which blends seamlessly with the building’s façade and enhances its local character.

Project Outcome

Thanks to our intervention, the project was completed with efficiency and precision, ensuring strict adherence to the client’s deadline. The creation of the new evacuation area not only met demanding technical and legal requirements but was also seamlessly integrated into the surrounding environment. In addition, high-quality materials and construction solutions strengthen the endurance of the space, ensuring users enjoy an optimal training experience.
