Faro de Lariño
Refurbishment of the Faro de Lariño: A Project of Light and Sea
The Faro de Lariño (Lariño Lighthouse) is a structure erected between 1913 and 1921 in a unique setting that helped ships enter the Fisterra arch and the Corcubión estuary, thus completing the lighting system of the Corrubedo and Fisterra lighthouses.
Project outcome
This lighthouse, active until the end of the 1980's, has been completely refurbished into a tourist accommodation establishment, thus becoming one of the most unique hotels in Galicia while preserving all its essence and original appearance.
The renovation of this lighthouse was based on a clear symbolism with the conditions of the sea, where each room takes you to a specific state, such as: foam, mist, sunrise, sky, storm, choppy sea, sunset, and night.
Likewise, the communal areas take us back to the life of the lighthouse keepers, much like the distinctive white and red light emitted by the lighthouse, represented in several elements of the design.
El Ariete tavern has a clearly nautical design in keeping with the lighthouse, where every detail has been taken care of with the utmost care.
