Zara 50th anniversary store on Juan Flórez: a celebration of craftsmanship, innovation, and heritage
Zara’s first-ever store has been reimagined to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
What began in 1975 as a small clothing store in the heart of A Coruña marked the start of Inditex’s journey. Today, the brand celebrates half a century of history with a redesigned flagship that honors the city where it all began.
A retail concept that blends tradition and innovation
The design of the new space draws inspiration from A Coruña’s iconic gallery-style façades, reinterpreting them as the perfect showcase for the limited edition collection created especially for the occasion.
A modular furniture system spans the entire perimeter of the store, over 100 linear meters, seamlessly connecting the display areas, sales floor, and fitting rooms.
Located at one of the entrances, the store features the first Zacaffé in A Coruña and only the third in the world, featuring an open polygonal counter and two dedicated seating areas.
The use of local materials, such as oak wood and granite, along with the incorporation of iconic imagery from the city, brings cohesion to this new retail concept.
Crafted gallery façades
The faithful recreation of A Coruña’s gallery façades demanded meticulous craftsmanship, visible in every detail. Here, function and aesthetics merge to evoke the spirit of traditional cabinetmaking.
The first Zacaffé in A Coruña
Building on its new café concept, the Zara store on Juan Flórez features a spacious area for its latest Zacaffé. At its heart is a striking central counter, supported by large oak wood pillars. The use of oak ties the space together, unifying elements that stand out for their distinctive design.
